Social surveys face a challenging time ahead. Budgets are under pressure, people increasingly prefer to communicate digitally and traditional survey modes risk excluding key population segments. What does this mean for social surveys and mode? This event is an opportunity to debate issues and explore new research by Kantar Public on survey mode. We will offer our ideas on how smart survey design can drive value for government social research.

Joel Williams and Bruce Hayward will outline:

  • New evidence, exploring what happens when questions from major social surveys are asked of online survey panellists
  • Recent evidence on survey mode, with a specific focus on telephone and web research
  • A range of ideas for driving value in survey design

This will be a high-level, small and informal meeting, designed to facilitate discussion and share best practice.
