Nick Howat and Carrie Harding will be presenting at the Surveying Children in Longitudinal Surveys workshop in Dublin on 5th and 6th May.

The workshop is organised by Growing up in Ireland (GUI) and the Centre for Longitudinal Studies at the Institute in London as part of the European Child Cohort Network (EUCCONET), and focuses on issues related to different approaches to and best practice in surveying children aged 9-15 years. These include modes of data collection as well as ethical and practical issues of recruiting and retaining children into longitudinal studies.

Nick and Carrie will be presenting experience from the Longitudinal Survey of Young People in England focusing on: panel retention at key transition points, the role of parents in maximising response and ethnical issues related to the study design.
