This research was commissioned as a follow-up to a public attitude survey undertaken in 2008 on behalf of the Scottish Broadcasting Commission (SBC). In the eighteen months since the publication of the SBC’s recommendations, the broadcasting environment in Scotland had undergone significant change and this subsequent research found evidence of slight positive shifts in satisfaction with television coverage of Scotland. There has also been a drop in support for increased coverage of factual and historical content, reflecting changes made by broadcasters in this genre.

The survey involved interviews with a representative sample of 1020 adults across Scotland.
