BBSRC and EPSRC: Synthetic biology dialogue

This report presents the findings of a series of public workshops and stakeholder interviews on the science and ethics surrounding synthetic biology. The project took place during 2009-2010 and was carried out by the TNS-BMRB, initiated by the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), and with support of the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills’ Sciencewise programme.

TNS-BMRB provides knowledge that helps Government, the private sector and the Third Sector plan and care for society. Our expertise includes the provision of national statistics, public policy analysis, public service performance measurement and improvement, and communications evaluation. We map and measure values, attitudes and behaviours across society, to explore how Britain is changing. Our work informs policy makers across national and local Government at the highest level.
