Voting intentions poll shows CON 29% (-2), LAB 42% (-2), LD 7% (-1), UKIP 10% (+2), OTHER 11% (+2)
A new poll finds the Conservatives, Labour and the Liberal Democrats all with reduced vote shares, whilst UKIP surges upwards to 10 per cent, overtaking the Lib Dems in the process.

For the first time in TNS BMRB’s polling, UKIP support is being separated from that of the smaller parties, to better reflect their improved performance in recent months.

Conference season polls are traditionally more volatile than throughout the rest of the year, and UKIP’s vote share appears unusually high. It will be interesting to see if this is sustained or if they fall back in weeks to come.

Kantar Public interviewed a representative sample of 1,212 people between 11th and 15th October, 2012.
All interviews were conducted as online self-completion. The data is weighted to match population totals for age, sex, social grade, working status, presence of children, 2010 voting patterns and region.
