Kantar Public Media Alert: Labour reasserts a 12 point lead over the Conservatives in July
Voting intentions poll shows CON 30% (-2), LAB 42% (+2), LD 11% (+1), OTHER 17% (-1)

After a month in which the government has been buffeted by a series of crises, Labour has reasserted a strong twelve point lead, following a slight narrowing of the gap in June. A successful Olympics may represent an opportunity for a Conservative poll boost but there are also serious risks to the government’s credibility if the event is seen as being mishandled.
Whilst the Liberal Democrats have made little headway in improving their position over the last six months, the other parties have been on a gradual upwards trajectory since January, despite their numbers dipping slightly in July.
