Kantar Public Media Alert: Labour hold 13 point lead over Conservatives following local elections

Voting intentions poll shows CON 30% (2), LAB 43 (+1), LD 10 () OTHER 17 (+1)

New figures from Kantar Public show Labour increasing their lead over the Conservatives to 13 points, their largest poll lead since entering into opposition. With polling conducted in the aftermath of last week’s local elections it is unsurprising to see the party receive a boost following their successes on that front. Whether this can be sustained remains to be seen. However, these findings are in line with pre-election polls which saw Labour open a ten point lead following Chancellor George Osborne’s March budget announcement.
